Tom Cruise will share the screen with South African actress Charlize Theron for an American remake of 2005 French thriller “Antony Zimmer,” Hollywood media reported Friday.

Directed by Indian-born Bharat Nalluri, the new version will also be the latest collaboration between Cruise and writer Christopher McQuarrie, tapped to rewrite the script.

McQuarrie co-wrote and produced “Valkyrie,” Cruise’s latest film set to open on Christmas Day in North America. He is also working on two other post-Valkyrie projects with Cruise, Variety magazine reported naming them as “Flying Tigers” and “The Champions.”

Directed by Jerome Salle, the first “Anthony Zimmer” starred Yvan Attal and Sophie Marceau. An ordinary man is chased down by the Russian mafia and international police in a manipulative case of mistaken identity.

The That Thing You do actress, who has earlier stripped down in flicks like The Devil’s Advocate, Deception, Monster and2 Days In The Valley, is once again ready to entice all with the strip act, reports the Sun.

The Oscar winner will play Sylvia, who tries to find common ground with her parents after a chaotic childhood; Kim Basinger will play her mother in the flick.

Theron was aptly named the sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine last year, however this year the title has been taken away by another Hollywood actress - Hally Berry.

Meanwhile, humanitarian Theron was also in news for being appointed as the United Nations Messenger Of Peace for her contribution in ending violence against women.

The Oscar-winning star looks stunning in skimpy blue dress with a plunging neckline, revealing an expensive necklace, in the ad for designer jewellers Breil Milano.

The 33-year-old follows in the footsteps of Incredible Hulk star EDWARD NORTON, who appears in the company’s ads for watches

According to Variety, she’s in talks to star opposite Cruise in “The Tourist,� Bharat Nalluri’s remake of the 2005 French thriller “Anthony Zimmer.�

Theron will play a female Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in an attempt to discover the location of an elusive criminal, with whom she once had a torrid love affair. It’s not clear whether Cruise will play the tourist, or the criminal — but considering which role is in the title, we can probably guess who he is playing. Full story »
